Invited by Prof. YAO Tandong, Director of CAS Kathmandu Center, Prof. Dr. Gunanidhi Nyaupane, Rector of Tribhuvan University (TU), Dr. Bhola Prasad Dhakal, Chief of General Administration Division, TU, visited ITP (Beijing) on July 18, 2015 to discuss the development of CAS Kathmandu Center. Prof. YAO gave warm welcome to the TU delegates for their formal visit.

Prof. LIANG Eryuan, Executive Director of CAS Kathmandu Center, briefed the TU authorities about the recent progress and upcoming activities of the Center. The following discussions were mainly focused on three topics: (1) How to promote scientific cooperation between TU and CAS through the Center, (2) How TU can give support to the instruments to be installed in the Center, and (3) How TU can take care of instruments and properties of the Center. Prof. Nyaupane expressed his gratitude to ITP for the thoughtful arrangements and hospitality during the visit. He was impressed by the progress of the Center achieved, and he say that TU would like to use the Kathmandu center as a platform to extend its cooperation with CAS including not only in environmental research, but also other research areas. Prof. Nyaupane also promised that TU will give continued support to the Center.

During this visit, TU delegates also visited three supporting institutes of CAS Kathmandu Center, i.e. University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth, CAS (RADI) and Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, CAS (RCEES).
